Below,  we will list the main positions that dogs adopt while they rest and their possible meanings.

Sideways

When a dog sleeps on his side, it shows that he feels comfortable in the environment he is in, as well as indicating that he is confident. It is a comfortable position, which denotes that the animal is happy and carefree, but it also means that it trusts you and is very loyal.

The side position is also the one taken very often by stray dogs  who, unfortunately, have become accustomed to not having a house to stay in. For this reason, it is as if they have developed the ability to feel comfortable in any place.

Curled up

This is one of the positions most often adopted by dogs while they sleep, because in this way they are able to retain the heat of their body. It is also a way to protect their vital organs and other areas of the same, such as the throat.

If your furry friend takes this position, he is sure to be a docile and affectionate dog.

Spaparanzati

The dog who sleeps on his stomach and sprawled, feels relaxed and confident, as well as where he is.

Remember  that when a dog is on his stomach, he is in a vulnerable state. This aspect indicates that the animal is happy and fully trusts you, since sleeping like this shows that he is absolutely convinced that nothing bad can happen to him.

Belly down

This position is usually chosen by a dog that does not sleep soundly. For this reason, he hires her while taking  a nap. It is a way to keep the surrounding environment under control .

Dogs that choose this position are generally sweet and shy, but also  very energetic, always ready to play and go for a nice walk.

“Passed out” position

This position can be assumed by dogs that use all their energy during the day or those that are very hot. They put their backs to cool down more quickly.

As for their personalities, they  are safe and relaxed animals, which adapt easily to different situations and environments.

I lay down

This is the position that is usually used by very energetic puppies to rest. Indicates motivation and happiness.

It consists of sleeping with the muzzle facing down and the front and rear legs extended, as if they were flying.
