The Stunning Psyche And Intelligence Of Cats

Of all pets, cats are the most common. However, only a few owners know enough about the psyche and intelligence of cats.

Psyche

Cats  are very independent animals, they need their space and do not require constant attention, quite the contrary. While dogs see their master as the pack leader, cats see him as their mother, they approach him only when they want something or because they demand food or cuddles.

They are absolutely curious animals and endowed with exceptional agility and physical flexibility thanks to which they can get almost anywhere. Just as it happens in humans, each cat has its own temperament which makes it unique, however, the indoles can be classified.

One of the indoles developed by cats is shyness. Shy cats keep their distance from humans and as soon as they are adopted, they take refuge in a corner to get an overview from there. For this reason it is advisable to be cautious, in the first days of contact of the cat with humans, and to wait for the cat to approach.

It must be considered that cats of this nature are often nervous and fearful, and therefore avoid making loud noises or sudden movements. It can also happen that the cat is extroverted. In this case it will be a fearless animal, it will not be afraid of anything, it will be curious and attentive. Cats with this character allow themselves to be caressed, but you must always wait for them to approach. They are playful with children and do not hesitate to throw themselves into your arms.

They obviously hate their tails being pulled or their naps interrupted. Quiet cats are  balanced and get along well with their peers. They take everything calmly and serenely and are perfect travel companions because they can stay in the carrier for hours, without meowing. Such a cat  does not suffer from stress, because there is nothing that can shake it.

And finally, cats can also develop a temperamental temper. Capricious cats are sensitive and susceptible. They get angry immediately and above all they can maintain this attitude for hours. They are very possessive and if they bet something, they immediately appropriate it and will not allow anyone to get close.

All cats are very independent, react badly to changes,  do not depend on the company of their fellow humans, and the company of humans is also relative.

Intelligence

Cats possess amazing intelligence, they gather information, assimilate it and use it to learn. Although feral cats are not very intelligent, it has been shown that those who grow up with people develop their intelligence more.

Cats learn through emulation,  observation and experiences and, in order to survive, they practice what they learn, merging it with their instincts. They have a highly developed memory, they  can remember events that happened and behave accordingly.

They can even guess, by smell and behavior, whether the person in front of them will treat them well or not. They also distinguish between known and unknown and will defend the territory against the latter.

Cats can communicate with people through meowing, tail position, face, ears, etc… They are very sensitive to changes and when they experience one, they  may even stop eating.

Their extreme curiosity is often the cause of their troubles, but thanks to their intelligence, most of the time they come out on their own. It must be remembered that being intelligent is not synonymous with obedience or ductility to training.
